  1. They may have told you that they've found cancer cells adapt to types of chemo so changing the chemo gives a much much better chance of zapping the thing. Some people's bodies are less sensitive to the chemo but for some (like you) it's very very debilitating. How much more do you have to go? Have they said? You are so in my thoughts. Lots of best wishes are winging their way to you!
  2. No, it won't be stressful. You are going to be excited in a positive way! And if you're not - so what! It will be stress only for a short time. No big deal - unless you let it be. You have my very very best wishes!
  3. @drsemmelIt's getting late here or I'd be listening to Hanging on the Telephone or Heart of Glass! Thank you!
  4. Good luck with it all! That is really good news indeed! It's nice to hear when things make people happy. It makes me smile too. Thank you for sharing!
  5. @Morticia01 - I hope it's much better than you think it might be. Could add Boomtown Rats, or Floyd, or Mamas and Papas but I was talking about Karen this morning. Still miss that wonderful, irreplaceable voice... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjFoQxjgbrs
  6. That reminded me of this: You Can Close Your Eyes - James Taylor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4j8m_S0S14
  7. @Pickysaurus - thank you! The feeling the pain is returned. You people do a fabulous job. Never doubt that. My forum is tiny. (I have run quite big ones but this one could fit in my study!) My husband - retired software engineer - wrote a challenge. But mostly I can tell if it's a spammer. The google is a pointer - but there are other signs. I've had no one 'break' through since we implemented the system but then only one real human being signed up in nearly a year! It was obvious they were human. There's no way I could cope with your volume without automating the tool (which isn't easily possible). Our forum shouldn't be interesting to spammers which makes me think it's a bot attack - a human would realise that talking to so few people isn't worth it. At least I credit them with that intelligence... I say again - you do a fabulous job. You retain a sense of humour and integrity with kindness and dignity. The constant Me! Me! Me! from some people here would get to me these days. Thank you! I do feel safe here and I do feel as if I'm part of a community. Live Long and Prosper!

    Ban for Fun

@Pagafyr - I think you've forgotten that you read The Speckled Banned aloud at the last concert! Frankly, I thought it was a success and I thought my flute playing was exemplary. Who'd have thought of using a flute in a rock band. I thought you were good on the tambourine as well - very Roger Daltry. Surely you remember George's drum solo? And how AaronOfMpls twirled the mic round his head? I thought it was brilliant... specially when he lassoed the camera person... and did that dance over the keyboards... Banned for misremembering what happened. PS I do wonder if playing Banned on the Run is a bit of a risk though... and really Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Banned did take up a lot of concert time... I'm not sure the audience got the puns... I really think with all that stuff about Banned Aid they were expecting someone quite different...
  9. They drive me spare. I run this tiny, tiny, microscopic forum (think of a very small number indeed... smaller than that and that!) I now have a system in position which confounds the AI but it doesn't stop the spammers from attempting to sign up. As soon as I see 'google' the alarm goes off: This is probably a spammer... and of course it always is... no real person ever joins... ever... I do feel sorry for Nexus dealing with them - it really isn't fun! My method would need to be automated to work and wow that be some coding... I think AI will crack my method eventually but not before the arrival of Skynet and Terminator... Hopefully... And there's the irony! Spammers can have two zillion accounts with google but try to get a separate one for your forum and it's seriously hard work and try to use that account to open another account and you find you've had to promise your first born and I haven't got one! I feel much better now thanks! And you've answered a question I've been longing to ask - about spammers - but was too shy...

    Ban for Fun

The banned Banned Band has been banned from touring. I thought we knew that? Our rendition of: Banned of Gold did not go down well in Banada. I don't think it was helped by the band's insistence on reading the whole of Sherlock Holmes The Speckled Banned... though frankly I liked it. Banned for bringing up a sore point... no jokes about banned aid thanks!
  11. Yes... it's another wonderful vid and a great song. When they started out, they played at our college regularly... and we preferred to have the disco... I could weep at that now...
  12. @Pagafyr - we live in that there countryside where the nearest neighbour (pun intended) is a horse... Until a few years ago the telephone consisted of a couple of empty bean cans and a length of string. Back to the sheep... The sun is really, really shining. I should be able to take the camera outside!

    Ban for Fun

You're both banned. The Banned Band Banned doesn't complain. It stoically goes on despite being pressed into a tiny forgotten corner of the forum where no one looks in without a torch...
  14. Thank you for that reminder! Oldfield - another amazing instrumentalist. His Tubular Bells was ground breaking and provided the haunting music for The Exorcist. Genesis One of my favourite vids... I Can't Dance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGI2d31M7Ns

    Ban for Fun

You're both banned. I'll think of a reason later.
  16. The Jabberwocky - it's a Vorpal sword. It's extremely useful in that you don't have to actually do anything. The sword will jabber away in nonsense until the intended victim dies of boredom (or runs away to escape the tedium). It is named for the vorpal sword in Lewis's poem for those of you who are interested in nomenclature.
  17. ELP Great Gate from Pictures by Mussorgsky. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ovyF9g3GjA and all those fireworks and lights and things reminded me of the absolute master of son et lumière - Jean-Michel. Closing Ceremony, Paris. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Zb7JvqAnWI about 2.30 if you want Oxygène. There are laser harps later on... Play it loud, play it large but you really needed to be there...
  18. A: You forgot the most important one! Sweet Dream - Jethro Tull and there's Sweet Dreams (But who am I to disagree?)! There's also Island of Dreams (Springfields - gee that's old). A little time into the future you could have I'm dreaming of a white Christmas... And my favourite - All I have to do is dream! To mention another song, I think We've only just begun! I'll stop! Banned! Wait... wrong thread... Q: How do you know that what you see is really out there?
  19. Prelude in C Major by that guy who dogs like... or at least they keep shouting his name... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZNXBpO-uEo
  20. Out: A crowd of people looking for the person who put in such a valuable coin. It takes the Sword of Ban and The Ban Hammer duel wielded to deal with them and I'm only little! Coin collectors - they can be really awkward, especially when they see something of historical interest. In: A bottle of witch hazel and ditto of iodine, for all the cuts and bruises.

    Ban for Fun

    Banned. For monopolising the thread...
  22. The Owl Killers - Karen Maitland. I'm not sure I like this much... She lets each character tell a bit of the story and at first it's confusing as to which is which and who is who and what is what... There's also lots of plot. Enough plot for a couple of books...
  23. Lonnie Donegan: Rock Island Line... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI4nRD-DRpk
  24. We sort of have a fibre connection. Not entirely switched over yet but it's fast. The technician made a neat job and didn't demolish half the house.
