Totally agree. It'll teach them rhythm as well and if they're at all interested in playing a musical instrument the early practice in rhythm will be great! However, I think you could start with something earlier than than that - for example a xylophone...

It's beautiful. I'm running it on Linux Mint and so far I haven't encountered any issues. It's been stable. I don't have performance issues. I like the way I can still recognise the original characters but they certainly look better! And so far I've found it very atmospheric... The only change I had to make was adjusting brightness level as I suspect my interpretation of 'the logo should be barely visible' was a bit more enthusiastic than was intended and I found myself peering more than I'm comfortable with. However, that can be adjusted in game without issue. For me, the opening scenes were just as moving as they were all those years ago and Jeremy Soule's score swirled me into the game - I remember only too well when I first saw Oblivion. So, no nostalgia hasn't worn off for me and I could stare at foxgloves for hours! Personally, I'm glad they weren't tempted to 'improve' it. Over the years I've rebought the (few) games I really enjoy several times as formats have changed or someone has remastered it so Oblivion has just joined the list. If you've never played Oblivion then this is the time to try it but if you have it already and you've modded it to your liking then I can understand why the remastered version might not seem such a catch. For me, the advantage is that the game is just what it was.... just a lot lot prettier in vanilla than the original! As I say, it's very beautiful. I'm glad to be playing it.

Oblivion Remastered running on Linux Mint... It's beautiful. And so far I haven't found anything that spoils it for me...

Out: A slightly soggy copy of Oblivion Remastered... (Of course, someone has yet to try it on Linux but so far she hasn't drummed up the courage to face the bitter disappointment)... In: A flying pig because they too are now real...

That's it. I ban banning...
-
Banned! Both of you. For using words.

Out: The fire engine from Sims 3 complete with firefighter who gives you a lecture about muffins and ovens and explosions. In: An announcement that the Oblivion remake is out soon. It's written in invisible ink and has: Not to be read till April 1st... written on it in crayon.

I'm not sure you can be off-topic/random topic in the banned section... but whatever - it's still a banning offence... anything is... You're both banned. Have you been practising for the banned band Banned Band? I like socks so George is extra banned... (I hope all is well).

Zixi is concentrating on playing a musical instrument. One day soon people will pay Zixi NOT to play that musical instrument. George, you are so banned for even remembering Zixi. Quite clearly the obliteration of Zixi from memory hasn't worked at all on you... and Zixi still lingers there somewhere! This is The Matrix yes? Banned!

Hurrah for you! Well done! It isn't easy. Very very very best wishes for the future! Take the very best care of yourself now!

Out: Scrooge. Demanding his coin back. Why do I always get the awkward people? Anyway, I have a scroll of banishment and that fixes him. In: Some Winter Solstice greenery left over from Saturalia in Skyrim... with plenty of snowberries still very fresh...

SkyrimSE - just so I can play the Saturalia (Christmas in Skyrim) Mod. It's one of my favourites. I love the singing.

Haven't been around much as I'm playing (a musical instrument) for real. 2025 is going to be the year of the improving my (musical) playing and my own tiny, weeny forum... so I'll be sporadic here. In any event, you're all banned until I'm certain that 2025 is a good one for you all. May it be happy and above all give you contentment.
-
That's good news for you too. Very best wishes for 2025.

Just started (today) Deadfire - Pillars of Eternity 2. It didn't really allow me to transfer my character from PoE1 to PoE2 - just the decisions I made. I still have to hunt about and find the portrait I used. I'm not totally sure 'who' I was... it's been a while...

Great! That's good news indeed.

Yes! Do that! You can sort it all out once it's done with. Do it without guilt. Eat what you can and when you can. Chemo will end and life will change again. My doctor described it as a 'roller coaster' and she was right but she neglected to explain that it didn't have the fun bit! Take care of yourself! I'm always so pleased to hear how you're doing!

Out: Divayth Fyr who makes everything better in an instant. In: The Dwemer Boots of Flying which Divayth Fyr decides he doesn't really need so hands them over as compensation for all the inconvenience.

So, let me see if I've understood this. You disappear for 14 years, then turn up and ban someone without so much as a hello! And there's no sign of your having asked for leave. Absent without leave is a bannable offence all on its own. Banned! And welcome back! How's it been away from thread of The Banned?

@binchickendreaming - Then I shall send you more best wishes and hope it goes as smoothly as possible. My happy thing is that our little Collie - very severely abused for the first two and a half years of her life, terrified of people, said 'Hello' to a delivery person! She (The Collie) was all waggy and friendly. I was soooo proud of her! And so very delighted that there is at least one person in the world she is unafraid of!
