steelfiredragon
to force a npc to follow the player? I'm having issues with getting Song of Green to work....
varkonasnorse
There is a command to force non followers to follow you, but the dialog for that character will not change from its original script. You must use Creation Kit for that. To force the NPC to follow you, bring down your console (~). Zoom in and click on the character to make his ref id appear. Then type: addfac 5c84d 1 Now you must strip them and give them all new gear. Type: removeallitems Now re-equip them and they should follow you. There is no guarantee they will obey you. They may not respond to dialog. You may have to resort to using a follower control mod to get them to co-operate.

varkonasnorse
says invalid faction....Ok, that means the character has custom dialog, mannerisms, and AI package designed specifically for that particular mod. The like li-hood of getting it to co-operate without a follower control mod like EFF or AFT will be next to impossible. Unless the author has stated that the character can be used as an independent follower, you are kind of SOL. Your only resort here would be to contact the author and ask if the character can be made a common follower. Some can be after their quests are done, but it is soley up to the author. A perfect example would be Rigmor of Bruma. The author gives you the option of making her a personal follower.
anjenthedog
The Manipulator (see LL) might help you. I have no idea if the NPCs introduced by your mod will work with it or not, but it does provide the ability for normal NPCs other than that, I agree with the previous post. AFT or EFF. (although again, I don't know whether the NPCs introduced by your mod will work with those follower frameworks or not)
Wicken54
The easiest, IMO, would be to go with a follower mod as @anjenthedog suggested. Do not use the old AFT as it is VERY buggy. I would suggest using the Immersive AFT which was updated recently. I'm not crazy about EFF either although some people swear by it. Crap shoot either way as both can be buggy at times. Option B if you have the nerve and the skills is to use SEEEdit or CK if you can get into it. CK would be easier as there is a factions tab and you can play around with the AI packages regarding things like sandboxing etc. I'm not that familiar with making changes through SSEEdit. You can edit a line by right clicking and affirming that yes you are sure you want to do that. What few I've tried have been marginally successful but you're welcome to give it a shot. Otherwise I would say be content with what you have and accept not having that particular NPC as a follower. Good luck.
anjenthedog
that's the nice thing about the manipulator, you can set an NPC to be available as follower or even marriable If my memory serves me correctly, BOSSE can also be used for some of that, but you'd have to check. I uninstalled it for some reason (I think something to do with tans) about 6 -8 months ago and can't remember.

As for EFF, I cannot comment that since I don't use it.
