363rdChemicalCompany Posted Saturday at 11:38 AM Posted Saturday at 11:38 AM 1)Cant find it. That green hat rag is so vile it raises my bloodpressure everytime i see it on one of my female NPCs. And they just seem to keep finding those somewhere in my settlements no matter how nicely I dress them. 2)As for the shacks. No one can survive a NorthEstern winter in them and they seriosuly break my immersion. I could just use the proper windowed houses from Homemaker expanded for my settlements and TSBs (and sometimes I do) but I seen to remember there was something that upgraded the vanilla shacks? And I am not tlaking about hunkered down. Anyway, any leads appreciated
363rdChemicalCompany Posted Saturday at 11:50 AM Author Posted Saturday at 11:50 AM On item 2) PS: I think I found it. On on to experiment if it will replace vanilla shacks or only new built ones or only new built ones by player. PS2: Whaddaya know. Already had it downlaoded and waiting in my Vortext but never enabled
363rdChemicalCompany Posted Saturday at 02:28 PM Author Posted Saturday at 02:28 PM Answring one of ym own questions here. While the extra insulation mod did fix some of the walls and roofs but not all of them. So its still near imposisble to have buildings that look survivable during a Massachusetts winter (without resorting to Homemaker settlements or Buildable Cabins mods)
subaverage Posted Saturday at 02:42 PM Posted Saturday at 02:42 PM (edited) The question for me would be how shall these buildings look? You could use the Snappy Housekit. It even has placeable glass planes. The Settlement Object Expansion Pack has also placeable glass afaik. Then there would be "MDE2506's mostly colorful and modular hotchpotch and other stuff", "HZS Offices and Stores" that has prefab buildings in prewar and postwar look. There will be more, but these are the ones that into my mind at the moment. Edited Saturday at 02:42 PM by subaverage 1

Can you think of anything thats still post-apoc look but has either a) glass windows repaired/intact and/or boarded up and b) no large holes in ceiling and walls? b) is what I hope this mod would address https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/76948 I understand it attaches to built assets but inpractice it was only partial. A building with 2 out of 4 walls with multiple holes in it, is still not fit for human habitation in a MS winter. I guess in my headcanon to makeit work, I have to assume, the Gulf stream collapsed and all that heat that was moved from the equator to Europe, now sticks around the East coast (meaning Europe is mostly glaciers now and not habitable at all except in the extreme southern fringes, such as southern italy and southern spain) But even if this means Florida weather for the Commonwealth, even in Florida weather, dwellings with such large holes are ont really habitable at least not for families, in the winter. This i what I use right now for the prefab covenant hosues mostly: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1478 And also https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/38952 , they still dont come with proper windows either closed boarded or glassed. I usually just put a fire in the fireplace via homemaker expanded and imagine the glass. (shrug)
subaverage Posted Sunday at 11:54 AM Posted Sunday at 11:54 AM Maybe this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/79074 or https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/79622 with has a shack section with glass windows. and still HZS Offices & Stores which has the prefab little cabins with glass windows and a repaired roof. Not exact that post-war junk look, but something I could imagine people being cabable of after more than 200 years. And you can still place the glass planes from Snappy Housekit and SOE with Place Everything. 1

I will Snap and build. see if I find what I am looking for, I must confess some of these look more complex than I was hoping for. I will DL and look for prefabs to minimize my time comittment to building a settlement. But you did give me good answers and for this a Kudos 1
fraquar Posted Sunday at 09:25 PM Posted Sunday at 09:25 PM If I was worried about surviving a Nor'Easter I'd just go old school and find a Log Cabin mod. (Wasteland Architect - Log Cabin). A well built Log Cabin can survive anything you can throw at it (Alaskan winters - you name it) - if you aren't foolish and burn it down to the ground yourself.

Thak you fraquar. But i was hoping to find something with prefabs to make my settlements more immersive. Not so worried about myself but my NPCs
subaverage Posted Monday at 07:39 AM Posted Monday at 07:39 AM There is mod (e.g. on LL) called "Reginald's PreFab SchackFest! 1.0.5", but I doubt that the mod author cared much about insulation.
