abysspect Posted May 4 Posted May 4 First of all, I know about the RMU mods that allow you to access the vanilla unplayable race assets and allow you to "change your race" by visually applying them to existing characters. This is a nice option for the time being, but what I'm looking for is a more comprehensive mod that allows these races to actually be selected and customized more thoroughly in the race menu using either the ShowRaceMenu command or when starting a new character, including custom stats, racial attributes and vocalizations (kind of like what was possible in vanilla TES4 back in the day using basic race unlock mods) I understand that TES4RE modding is still in its infancy and that this will likely require a lot of custom assets and code, but I'd love to actually play as a dremora in this newly remastered version of the game and not just have it be a visual change to existing races. I think the remastered dremora look amazing but the current options we have access to through mods like RMU are incredibly limited. More character creation options in general would be nice, tbh, like the ability to have more control over different body parts - but that's a separate issue entirely. Would love to know if something like this is already in the works or whathaveyou! 1
AlienSlof Posted May 4 Posted May 4 If the modding tools are available, and I can get help, I'd like to remake my playable Xivilai mod eventually. I haven't really looked too closely at modding this yet as I'm currently in the middle of another project. 1 1
Sheogorath101 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 My Playable Daedra mod allows you to play as the unplayable races. It does require the use of RMU to load the proper head mesh, but you do legitimately play as the the proper race. The voices work, although due to the way bethesda set up the Golden Saint and Dark Seducer voice line conditions, you have to add the player to a certain faction and they only work inside the Shivering Isles. (Full details and other important information are in the mod description) There are attempts by other modders to get a cleaner user experience that integrates them into the normal race menu, but the Unreal Layer is posing problems that haven't been solved yet. But anyway, while it is a bit janky to get going, it does allow you to play as the unplayable races. 1
