With Oblivion remastered coming soon tm and the mods that are gonna come along with it, having no choice but to use this site to dl the mods is frustrating, I really wish the devs just listened and added the option to revert to the old style. Having been using the site for almost 15 years now I really hope that the devs see the high demand for a revert option and add it because not doing so is just an insult to the userbase.

Well, I've not used this website for about a month or so, so I was pretty surprised and dismayed to see that there's been a UI change - I guess all websites these days feel obligated to do it. And as with all modern UI changes, this has introduced far more issues than it solves. As this is an "aesthetic" thread, I'll point out just a few of my biggest issues on that front:

  1. The new header font is painfully generic. The old one had character.
  2. Most interactive elements on a page used to be highlighted in orange boxes. This is no longer the case, and usage of the orange boxes feels inconsistent, which also weakens the sense of identity that this website has.
  3. On that note, the numbers in tabs on mod pages used to be white text in orange boxes, but are now simply orange text. I assume this was done for readability, but this could've been achieved by just making the text black instead of white. Now the numbers just look really small next to the tab names, which looks strange.
  4. On the game and search pages, there is now a very big gap between the main page content and the top banner. I really don't know what the point of this is besides making the site look empty.

Why make it look like a mobile site when people are modding on a PC?  Please bring back classic. It was amazing. So easy to use. this just frustrates me :(.  I miss Nexus Mods. this feels like another website trying to be nexus mods.

Oblivion Remastered is reportedly running on the unreal engine, so, don't expect too many mods......

It's genuinely a 0/10 update, everything is worse in nearly every way. The modern trend of corporate minimalism is soulless, featureless, bland even when pulled off competently, which it wasn't in this case. It's not sleek, it's ugly and makes the site harder to use. I'm guessing the administrators spent significant money on this UI redesign - hence why they reject any suggestions for an optional revert out of hand - so I'm not sure what the point of these feedback threads even are.

The downfall of every major site comes when the people who run it have their own "Am I out of touch? No, it's the kids who are wrong" moment and decide they know better than the users what's good for them.

The feedback threads are performative. They'll just wait until the passionate users who are willing to voice criticisms for a site they love quiet down and accept their fate in using an inferior service. It's what every corporation does.

This happened to some users on Win7 here, so if you've also got that OS, they'll hardly ever fix it.

Fixed the Manage Mods Rewards button, other minor fixes.

Haha, good thing you've removed that margin-top: -1.6rem; on .drop-down ul.sublist, just found out it's mucking up the Options and Block user lines in the comments drop-downs 😆 Gotta fix my stuff too.

I have been around a LONG time but as you can see, I rarely ever post....but, here I am and I guess I should just accept the fact this site is going to continue to get worse and worse in terms of looks and efficiency because whoever is in charge seems to think people access this site on a mobile device or via a console system for a big TV.

As much as I love the mod manager and ability to control my own mods, the amount of extra time it takes to navigate this site now due to its continual horrible design choices is making me turn more and more to Steam Workshop and ModDB first before coming here, for what is not there.  It has gotten to the point entire mod names are not even displayed in lists anymore, you have to go to their page just to see the name and if you are even interested or not.

What a waste of time this is becoming. This site used to be top tier, now its a time sink and as is, I would rather get quick downloads from Workshop via Vortex mod. Its FASTER than navigating this horrible UI here.

Someone needs to remind the person in charge of some of the more important lessons in life. KISS. Keep It Simple, Stupid.

This seems to brick a few things; does it need to be updated?

Main game pages have huge 'trending mods' boxes that scale based on page width (wider = bigger).  The text for them is misaligned too, overlapping other elements.  May be due to change to flexible width here, as the individual mod pages are still fixed width.

Any chance to get the the color scheme of the whole page more back to how it used to be?  No more deep black anywhere.

Also the font, really evident it's different (worse) with the old style in the mod preview text.  Not sure what it was, have to go back on archive.org..

Edit: old site:

  1. text-rendering: optimizeLegibility;
  2. line-height: 1.3;
  3. color: #616161;
  4. font-family: 'Roboto',sans-serif;
  5. font-weight: 300;
  6. overflow-x: hidden;

Setting it back to Roboto doesn't change anything, it's overruled by "var(--font-inter),", and removing that outright just makes the text look better, though it does adjust the header text too.

Looks like this is more complicated than I understand, for now...
