If you're on Firefox, you can stuff it into a UserContent.css file (there're a couple more steps to enable using it, IIRC, though). That way only specific sites are affected and you don't have to download another extension.

update: installed Stylus. 1. Open nexusmods. 2. Open LummoxJR's github page in a new tab (just copy the style from the css page). 3. In the Nexus tab click the Stylus icon and in the drop-down menu choose "create style for" (click on the nexus address). 4. You'll be taken to a new tab - erase all code there and past LummoxJR's code. 5. Click 'Save' on the left. Enjoy!

Worked like a charm.....Thank You !!

This new search bar feature is horrible and the old one is far superior.

This new one:

  • Blocks your view of the page you are on.
  • Forces you to the main mods page if you click "Show more", booting you out of the page you were on.
  • Looks very bubbly and off-putting. (Modern "Bubble" UIs in general suck)

The old one:

  • Lets you look through every single mod under a word.
  • Leaves you able to see the page you are on still (Great for seeing what you are trying to spell).
  • Is very sleek and sexy.

Please stop reinverting the wheel, the UI was fine and worked perfectly.

this is incredibly true.. I hate how I am just blinded, and this new menu pop up blocks my entire view and forces me back up to the top of the page. I don't know why they or whoever did this even had to change this. Who the hell is this even bothering this much to make an entire new menu? If it works, why change it?

I don't get why you need an entire new menu just to find mods when you could easily just hit enter and look at more mods.
You really should have just made a "show more" button or "open in new tab" button that allowed you to open it in a new tab and the process even becomes easier to find a mod now that you have a full tab to it or a show more button which then opens up this new menu or whatever you call it to find the mod without opening a new page.
I think that was the actual goal from the start but instead you just completely removed and replaced this entire VERY QUICK and easy search bar with a very much more inconvenient one.

And while we're on the topic of site changes, please give us a dark mode for the site that is just blacked out backgrounds and extreme dark mode.

So I was writing a report (after clickling "Report Abuse" on a mod) and wanted to add a forward slash / to my report by pressing Shift + 7 on my keyboard. This opened up the new search menu instead, and I couldn't add the /. Had to copy/paste the / from a text file on my PC instead. Just thought I'd let you know.

Sorry about that; we discovered this bug ourselves this morning. There's a task to fix it.

Thanks. Just thought I'd mention it in case you hadn't discovered it yet. No problem. 🙂

The one thing a really HATE, is now the Small Search Box up by your Avatar, opens a new window, rather than just doing the Drop-Down, where you start typing in a word, and the dropdown keeps honing in on the word, until you end up with a dropdown of just mods with that particular name.
Now you end up with a completely USELESS screen with Big PANELS, that show a list of mods with that word they have in common, so instead of being able to scan the mods QUICKLY by just scanning up and down a COMPACT LIST, now it's a gigantic Fisher-Price MY First Mod Page® waste of space, where now you scan UP and DOWN, AND SIDE TO SIDE, that you then have to click on CONTINUE, to get an actual functional list.

I don't know what's happened in UI design, but I believe it started with GOOGLE, and how they love to make their UI design as inefficient as possible, and requiring far more clicks than necessary.

What used to take a couple of seconds, by just typing in a few letters of a mod name and clicking, now involves a new window, then another window that opens on that Query, and then another click to get to a somewhat usable list.

Completely Awful.

And I can't even see the full mod name (if it's a little longer) at 100% scale 😆 What's even the point?

Yes, I have to constantly switch between 100% and 90% now, one time the font is uncomfortably big, next time it's uncomfortably small, why can't I just have everything at a normal scale, like a day ago?

My stylesheet fixes the mod titles by switching from the Inter font (not suited to this purpose) to a condensed font. I chose Cabin Condensed, but in earlier tests I really liked Saira Condensed also so I put both of them as options in the stylesheet. I linked to that a few posts back.
