I run a GOG game and it was no end of trouble with mine. Not sure if it was a conflict with other mods or incompatible with GOG. In my case it was ruining interaction with certain essential NPCs like Harkon and Farkas, in Harkon’s case, when transforming he actually went poof and disintegrated, raining small pieces of bloody confetti around the dining area, would have been funny if not the fact it would have bugged out two major quest. In my case I just disabled the tweak mod and the other mod it seemed to be a requirement for ran fine without it.

Ha, looks like how my kids room felt to my feet when they left their Legos and other toys out for me to find in the dark.

Should I downgrade game version to 1.5.97 in 2025?
Gunslinger808 replied to BlackRoseOfThorns's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Probably wrong here, but downgrading was really only a viable option during all the mod breaking upgrades Bugthesda and Steam was doing, by downgrading you could still use the old SKSE and other things like Papyrus. Pretty much any mod for SE and Anniversary will work with 1.6.whatever. Since all of those issues have been fixed, it doesn’t really make much sense. -
You by any chance using the “Power of three’s tweaks”?

Modmapper: every Skyrim SE mod on an online interactive map
Gunslinger808 replied to dactyl's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
That’s a save to favorites! Thanks for all your hard work. -
Yeah, I’d go ahead and disable the mod for that quest and see what happens. If your game does it again try TLC, it’s worth a shot. It’s a pretty safe option, and your followers will catch up to you if you have any. And just out of curiosity, do you have any mods that might be affecting the cell you’re trying to go to from Bronze Water?

That’s probably your easiest and safest bet, and do not delete that clean save for at least a few days once you clear the quest just to be on the safe side, and once doing the quest save often and delete the corrupted saves as soon as you clear the quest. Failing that, and if your old save does the same thing, rather than console command teleporting, try disabling collision and ghost your way out. Did your game crash after being in the cave exit where you talk to Karliah, or after she gave you the bow? And as you found out, console commands are tricky, sometimes they are a godsend, other times a curse that will rear its ugly head later on. Also, do hard saves often, do not depend on auto saves.

About File Sizes of Saved Game Plays
Gunslinger808 replied to DirebearCoat's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
It really isn’t all that memory intensive to leave saved files for a week or two just to be sure you didn’t glitch your game. Heck, when I was new to gaming I didn’t realize they were saved to my files, and I thought deleting them in game was all I needed to do, imagine my surprise when I finally looked and saw hundreds of saves from years ago. My SSD drive is luckily large enough that it still has considerable space, even with TES, Cyberpunk, Fallout 3 and 4, Starfield, and all their mods and at least 7 other games on it I had to deactivate Cloud saves though, it kept reloading old deleted saves onto my drive every time I logged in. -
Only issue with the GOG version is right now it’s not compatible with Waberjack downloading and supporting the newer multi mod packs like Nolvus. i

If anyone is interested GOG has the Anniversary Edition on sale for less than $17. I have both the Steam and this one, both perform the same but at least with the GOG version you an avoid those pesky and game breaking updates, and no DRMs.

I don’t use AFT, NFF or any other as I use the Serana dialog add on. However from what I’ve read, wait till the Dawnguard quest is completed as it may glitch certain quest if you give her certain commands via AFT or other during that quest since it’s so involved. Most notable is missing certain conversation lines or cues that further a part of the quest. After Dawnguard if you haven’t modified her other than visually she should react like any other NPC regarding follower tweaks.

Looking for open \ barbarian style armor remesh
Gunslinger808 replied to Wakaitsu's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Go to Nexus and type in “HIMBO” in the search bar, there are quite a few armors that are like what you want that have been converted from female armors. Some a little more risqué than others. Heres a more ummm shall we say revealing without being wang out. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/61351 -
Had someone sort of antagonistic with me on another forum calling TES “Stone Age” game. Really strange since TES pretty much pioneered the VR and AI integration. What other games out there have followers that can not just respond in normal fashion, but will actually carry on an in depth conversation? Not too shabby for a 12 year old game.
