That's a bad thing? Actually I think all this happened a bit after I patched to that. Like a week maybe. But see when I reinstall it's back to 1.1something and there's still the white textures. I just dunno what to do. I thought about whiping out everything, the Oblivion folder, Data, mods, as well as just uninstalling, and downloading them over again. But that would take forever! Anyways, back on this 1.2 business. What's the deal with that? Does it really mess everything up, even if you reinstall or whatever?

Okay so just the other day I ran into this problem, and it's made the game unplayable (aka, an extreme eyesore) since then. I noticed that any enchanted weapon that had any charge (which should display the default shiny membrane) shows up completely white ingame, with no shaders or lighting whatsoever. My thought is a missing texture or something. Not only that, but anyone wearing enchanted items and anyone under a spell effect, their ears, eyes, weapon in hand, mouth (inside), and arrows turn the same white. So I'm thinking it has to do with the way the enchantment textures show up in game. I reinstalled Oblivion numerous times and can't get it to go away! I load different saves (the saves folder and some of the data folder stays when you uninstall) its the same effect! What can I do???

its a stretch, yes. but given the vastness of all that exists there are enough locations of life, as big or small, developed or not as they are, to at least have the possibility of other humans. who knows these may even be on a higher evolutionary level than we.

uh i think we already covered that sort of thing above... anyway heres a completely different spin. did you ever think that our universe is so huge and full of so many combinations that there may actually be other humans out there? think about it. there is near infinate potential for a near infinate number of races, and in turn there most undoubtedly has to have some repitition. wouldnt it be fascinating to meet someone geneticly the same species as us but from another galaxy? and to study eachothers planetary and human history, given they're bound to be completely different, oh man thats really deep sh*t there huh? any comments? i think its quite an intriguing theory.

big lol. i wouldnt doubt if 99% of all alien abduction accounts are untrue. these crazy humans, they'll say anything...

people might also think it a common misconception that all alien races are superior in intelect and technology than we. given that the race in mind advances through the technology tree at the same rate we do, then yes that would be right. as this solar system and galaxy are, supposedly, relatively new. (lets just say for example the last 1% of 'existance') that said someone with the same tech speed as us would indefinately have a huge advantage, even a neighbor. but thats not to say that the race at the very center of the universe would be a tech titan over the other worlds, or that they didnt fizzle and die like humans probly will. just look at Alien/Predator and see what the differences are. oh i really want to post my theory of the (non-uni)verse(s) but i really dont have the time right now. oh and Hir_Nesta, i really would be interested in hearing your thoughts. maybe a PM is in order.

i think thats because you got the sign of the Atronach (spl?). since you were going for mage you probly looked at the Fortify Magicka 2x Int and overlooked the Stunted Magicka curse, that means you cant replenish magic while resting. however you can use the Absorb magic constant spell you have by that sign to absorb magis cast by other mages at you. also just about the only way to replenish you magic is to buy potions. get the lower quality cuz its more cost efficient. ...rar...

YES i love topics like this. the simple answer i would give to some non-believing infadel would be, "why not?" now its time to go off on one of my large semi-theoretical posts. whose to say our is the only planet in out solar system to support life? i understand they can find bacteria on mars and that counts as life right? and who's to say that oxygan and water are the only way to support life. thats just people limiting themselves to earthly relativeness. given the infinate chances there may be a race out there capable of unassisted interplanitary migration and would kill to find a good place like uh Jupiter cus that may be exactly what they need. and there may be a race who has been spying on us for ever, maybe even since the beginning of our humble little earth. unwilling to lend their god-like assistance because theyd much rather observe the evolutionary process and now every little crevice of human society. who's to say these beings dont know every language and culture that has passed on this pitiful rock, and even may have adapted a few of our cutoms. the ideas of say something like marriage my not have been a part of their society until they thought, "well that looks to be working well down there, we may have to try that" until lately of course. they may even be able to tap into this very forum and read what the intelligent or the ignorant have to think about this idea. oh man you probly have no idea how long i dwell on the infinate possibilities of the uni-(really? uni?)-verse. ill definately be on tap if this thread goes the distance. ...awesome... edit - ok Maquissar got his pot in probly right after i got started, but for people who dont know. when he says pessimistic im pretty sure hes not talking about a disgruntled mode of communicating his 'findings' (42, lol) but rather an attitude that we shouldnt get excited when dealing with these numbers and we should assume maybe we are slightly more fortunate than we think we are to be in existance. at least i think thats what he means by that...

soooo not for tha bird main. i like to show a record of how i try to secure a moral equalization of the bad vibes shooting through the telephone wires. so therefore i lay into these overconfident lamoz that think they can uber flame someone else and get away without a gaping wound to the brain, effectively demoralizing them and sending the message that if the mods havent showed up yet to bust em, they better pray i dont swoop thu. im not a mod, im ur friend. uh... no implications there. just... dont read too far into that statement.
