Ok, will try answer your questions! 1. Texture mods can be tricky, if its a loose file, you can specify which files are overwritten (you will be prompted about overwriting files if this is the case). If its all bundled into an esp/esm then the last one loaded is what you get. Edit: There are of course esp files that use loose files, in which case, whichever files get overwritten are the ones that will get used. 2. Depends on the mod. For texture mods you would be fine for simply uninstalling and reloading the save. For mods that have esp/esm it really depends on what they are doing. For example, if a mod has a script firing in the background, yanking that mod out could bug your character and saved game. 3. Read the readme also take a gander at the comment section of the mods you install. If a bunch of folks are complaining about x mod breaking their game, or behaving oddly, keep that in mind.

I could have sworn that it was possible back in the skyrim days, to run a pre ck mod inside the construction kit and resave it to fix some issues? Going from memory here, it was a long time ago, and I avoided modding til the kit was out.
-
I would have, but decided to just wait until the construction kit comes out to start a new game. I am concerned about the direction the recent beta took things. For example, the moderators saying that mods were not actually disabled for the beta. I am forced to wonder if the mods I do use now will be compatible? Or if I can fix them once the kit comes out. Yes,I am aware of the current workaround. However it is not without its flaws. Then there are the side issues, of the console being disabled as a "feature". Or save only on sleep. I would resent like hell to lose progress because I got stuck in a wall.

*rolls eyes* And democrat supporters get outed by whining about needing things censored every-time it offends their sensibilities. How about we don't toss stones? Every political group has fringe elements we would rather didn't exist. -
I could have sworn they specified sometime before the next dlc comes out. So assuming they hold true to form.. Either the 5th, 12th or 19th will be the release date.

I knew EA would come up, just knew it. Probably because this thing was handled like they were taking advice from an EA pr rep.
-
I really think this will all blow over. Beth is very lousy at communicating with its fans.
-
At this point, treating their moderator posts as fiction until proven otherwise. edit: The funny thing is, it'd not have been a big deal if they flat out just stated what they were doing.
-
It does seem like beth tried to piss off as many people as possible with this beta. Lets not forget, that mods still are not really allowed, even on the normal non beta release. So, now they created more hoops for us to jump through. Only this time they are on fire. But ok, its a beta. Now what about that console access? That little knife in the dark, will apparently stick with us even after the beta is gone. No more summoning companions that disappear on us. No more fixing broken quests (from vanilla, or modded in once geck lands)...
-
Sales, probably, but no free mods will be wherever you want. Unless you are on a console, then it will likely be limited to beth.net only. It'd be the only way for them to try and enforce what kind of mods get loaded.

Brotherhood Overhaul (Conceptual Stage)
Mavkiel replied to Vaernus's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Sounds like a really good idea for a mod. The lack of a kit is annoying, but at least it doesnt hurt the whole collecting voice actor lines. That way when the kit rolls around, no waiting on voice actors. *shrugs* Anyhow, I am just glad someone is giving the faction some love. I freaking hated how bare bones it currently is. -
Survival Mode will be on beta next week

I believe he means the methods you can contract diseases. Eating raw meat, getting hit by bugs or ghouls or even taking chems. So it sounds like you can catch a disease by sneezing. Which should be interesting. At least it'd justify me spending some points in endurance. -
Talk about a non productive turn of argument. I think we all could get into tirades about what is and is not a mod. My own personal issue would be all the god items, that are just annoying clutter to me. However, to folks that like that its a mod. So in the end, do we go for the technical definition, that a mod is a modification of the game? Or that a mod adds something of value to your experience? In either event, not sure what the point of arguing this is. It'd be like two guys arguing about some other guys wang size. Now, back on topic, I am sure not having the kit out is hurting things at least a little.

Yeah I really want the kit. I spent more time messing around with mods in the construction kit then playing skyrim.

[Beta Test Weekend] Nuclear Perks Overhaul :)
Mavkiel replied to DDProductions83's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Keeping an eye on this for sure. Right now just waiting on that dirty dlc to drop. This mod strikes me as a far more reasonable way of leveling. -
I wonder.. is this really hardcore ?....
Mavkiel replied to RelicDuDe's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Fallout 4 does seem highly stable.. but seriously how many of us have either died or gotten stuck on some surface? Rolling back 5-10 minutes to the nearest bed, would make me curse like a sailor called back early from shore leave. -
If memory serves, wasteland whisperer also works on synths. So they are abominations. Neither human nor animal. An unholy fusion of flesh and machine. Ok fine, watching to much doom footage of that flying metal thingie that shoots rockets. I want one of those.

Yeah you pretty much missed that b&@*$ fest. There were literally like 5-6 full threads on the beth forum with people going at it like rabid penguins with chainsaw limbs. Pro people - argued that it makes the game more 'hardcore'. And finding beds is not that difficult. Con people - argue its a beth game. (Which covers funny things like getting stuck on surfaces, ctds, stuck quests, and bumping into cars killing you) -
On a positive note, the console are getting a patch this week. So hopefully that translate into dlc beta next week.

To each his own I guess. For me, New Vegas was one simple play through, move along, and not even bother modding. Fallout 4 on the other hand, I have never played a single player videogame for that long before (100 hours). I am not the kind of guy that sits at his computer for 10 hours straight playing a videogame, only Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, and Fallout 4 were able to make me do that. I don't know if it hurts or helps that I live in the freaken Mohave. I did forget to mention I also hated that setting. But it did do quests right. Multiple branches, multiple ways of doing things. Ways of peacefully doing certain quests. Faction relationships, faction levels (demonstrating levels of trust). By that I mean radio to call in ranger help, or being given access to a safe house. Little things like that made the game stand out. What fallout 4 has going for it is a better setting. A far more stable engine, and better shooting mechanics. I am hoping in time and the kit being released we can get more of the aspects of what I liked in fallout new vegas to fo4.

Meh I actually enjoyed new vegas more. And I bloody hated its main plot, and thought legion was a joke. Brotherhood quests were fun - vaults were highly interesting - and most importantly of all, they had blackjack and hookers.

To be fair the first two dlc releases lend themselves well to that. With them not being story heavy or using much in voice acting. Those dlc could be great, or could be little more then polished mods we already have. Since I have the dlc pass, I am leaning towards great.
