I've blocked many users over the years for spamming the imageshare with garbage and I know I'm not the only one who's done it, having to unblock these people just to see their posts isn't ideal.

There's little point in worrying about it now, we don't know what they're going to do and even if they do enshitify the site there's nothing we can do about it other than move on.

Twitter Inactive Accounts Policy is very stupid
JimboUK replied to gabrielrock19's topic in Off-Topic
It doesn't surprise me in the slightest, they take money for premium and then limit people's visibility, I'm following around 7,000 people but I only see posts from the same 100 or so over and over again, many of these people are paying and their posts are being hidden. Things weren't great when Jack Dorsey was running the show but they were nowhere near as bad as they are under this megalomaniac clown. -
Twitter Inactive Accounts Policy is very stupid
JimboUK replied to gabrielrock19's topic in Off-Topic
He's ruined it, the worst thing he did was introduce monetisation, now the place is wall to wall clickbait, engagement farming and bots. -
A forum I moderated many, many years ago had an alternative to banning called "Send to Coventry", it hid the offenders posts from everyone but them, they'd carry on being obnoxious blissfully unaware that no one could see their posts, it had the added bonus of them not creating a new account because they didn't know they'd been moderated, it worked really well, after a week or so of being ignored they'd get bored and move on. Yes a few worked it out when they browsed the forum while not logged in and the resulting meltdowns were hilarious. For those unaware sending someone to Coventry is a UK idiom for ostracising someone.

They don't seem to realise that it takes them far longer to set up another account than it does for a moderator to ban them, they think they're making things difficult for staff but they're really not, I don't know about now but we used to be able to bin people in less than thirty seconds.

Problem using GECK to place a custom npc into the world
JimboUK replied to specz's topic in Fallout 3's GECK and Modders
Have you enabled the mod in your mod manager? I've lost count of how many times I've forgotten to do that and sat there confused when the content isn't there. -
Unable to use "Yes to all" option in GECK warnings
JimboUK replied to DoggyFriend's topic in Fallout 3's GECK and Modders
In Documents\My Games\Fallout3 you'll find a file called GECKCustom.ini, open it with notepad and change bAllowYesToAll=0 to bAllowYesToAll=1 and then save. -
Fallout 3 Console Commands "For Dummies"?
JimboUK replied to MatSpikeYinsen's topic in Articles and Guides
Disabling and then enabling should work. Try this, if you have Broken Steel installed then try Player.AddPerk xx003211 Replace the XX with the first two characters of whatever your load order number for Broken Steel is, wait three days and you should have a new Dogmeat outside Vault 101. The problem with the console is it can break your save in a myriad of ways, often in ways that are hard to fix for the person with access to the borked game and damn near impossible for a third party over the internet. -
Sadly these kinds of people have always been around, I've had to put up with nonsense from them and loremongers under my images many times. I don't know why they bother, no one is going to change what they post because some random is critical of them in the comments. That said I don't think it's as bad now as it used to be, I reported a couple of morons under someone else's image the other week but I've not had it myself for several years and I see a lot less of it.

It's not unusual for people like that to be projecting, to be degenerates themselves, see the Victorians for details.

I would avoid the Epic version, I've not heard good things about it. As for mods it's been so long since I've played Fallout 3 that I couldn't give you an up to date list, maybe someone else will see this thread and chime in.

The GOG version is 1.7.0.3 so you haven't got to mess around with any patches which is a good thing, it's also LAA which means you don't have to patch it to use 4GB of memory, another good thing. Yes all the mods will work, to make mods you need the GECK which can be found here don't forget the 1.5 update file. BAT files are just a way to execute console commands so yeah they work.

I don't see how this will prove or disprove that they're being used to mislead but OK... https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/149646 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/149580 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/149558 These are the first three mods with what look like AI thumbnails that I came across, none are misleading because they're on mods that can't really be represented visually, and putting unrelated images on these kinds of mods is nothing new. I can see where it could be used to mislead, for example someone using AI imagery to give the impression that their ugly looking follower looks like a supermodel, but things like that should be reported.

Please teach me how to use console commands
JimboUK replied to MatSpikeYinsen's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
It's a save with a name of your choosing, it makes it much easier to see the one you need to reload. I usually do it before installing a mod so I know which save to load should I remove that mod. -
Need help with FNV body mods
JimboUK replied to ShiniTenshiZan's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
What people use is really down to personal preference or how they choose to mod their game, I'm using 0.52.3 from 2014, I still do things manually so I don't need anything newer. -
Need help for interiors appearing broken inside geck
JimboUK replied to Sven363's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Yes, just add the items as single statics, anyway according to the wiki SCOL's only reduce the object count if they share the same texture, see things to avoid https://geckwiki.com/index.php/Bethsoft_Tutorial_Static_Collections
